2013 National Design Awards reception at the Hirshhorn Museum

@SebChan watching moonrise behind the Capitol
Had the pleasure tonight of attending a reception at the Hirshhorn Museum for the 2013 winners of the National Design Awards, created by the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum to honor lasting achievement in American design.

It was a lovely night at the museum with all the winners there in preparation for tomorrow's event at the White House. The balcony of the Hirshhorn was open and we were treated to a fabulous moonrise behind the US Capitol.

Also had the pleasure of mingling with Smithsonian colleagues as well as meeting some fellow GLAMs, including a visitor from New Zealand.

All the winners were quite impressive, but I'll single out Gadi Amit of NewDealDesign who designed the Fitbit.
