Melville Louis Kossuth (Melvil) Dewey (December 10, 1851 – December 26, 1931) died 82 years ago today.As you can tell from the title of this blog, I'm a fan of the decimal classification system (though in the blog's case, it is the Universal Decimal Classification, not Dewey).
Dewey was also a proponent of spelling reform (hence his preferred spelling of his name, "Melvil".
