Happy birthday iPod! Introduced on this date in 2001

The original iPod was introduced by Apple on this date in 2001. A couple years later, in 2003, the advertising firm of Chiat/Day created the distinctive black silhouetted iPod user on a bold, colorful background.

Over the next twelve years, Apple continued to release new and varied versions of the iPod (Nano, Shuffle, Touch). The silhouette ad campaign also continued for a number of years with various variations on the them.

In honor of that campaign, my faithful dodo avatar has gone all Apple-ly!
