This is my first time in Berlin. Didn't quite know what to expect in terms of overall architecture. Of course there's quite a bit of new design (esp. around Potsdammer Platz) and other areas that were in the old Mitte (East Berlin). You still find large empty lots (left over from WW II) and old (and new-ish) GDR Soviet stylings.But I wasn't quite ready for turning corners and hitting big baroque structures.
