Went out to the Congress Ave. bridge to see the famed Mexican Free-tailed Bat (Tadarida brasiliensis) take flight at dusk. It was quite a spectacular site.
First there were just a few, and then a torrent of bats flying out from under the bridge! The photo here doesn't do it justice. Here are some more pictures, that also show the human watchers (on land and water).
