Short and unofficial recap of the @SILibraries / @CLIRDLF DC #DPLA launch meet up

2013.04.18-IMG_16472013.04.18-IMG_1650

A very successful DC launch party for the DPLA at Smithsonian Libraries. Co-hosted by myself (left) and Rachel Frick (Digital Library Federation), we ended up with around forty people all together from all around Washington, and one person who came down from Baltimore (Diana from the Enoch Pratt Library).

2013.04.18-IMG_1651David Ferriero, Archivist of the United States (or AOTUS to the world) dropped by as we video called into Cambridge for a welcome from Dan Cohen (DPLA Executive Director), Emily Gore, Amy Rudensdoft, Maura Marx, Kenny Whitebloom, and (the indispensible) Rebekah Heacock (from the DPLA Secretariat and Berkman Center).

There'll be an official Smithsonian Libraries' blog post shortly ... but I wanted to get this one off tonight.
